| The
mission strategy of the Bible school for inner city
children is that through the children we reach the
family: (1) we build relationships with the
children, (2) establish trust with the family, and
(3) introduce the family to the Gospel through Bible
study and visitation. Over the years, the Bible
school for inner city kids has proven to be a very
effective mission strategy and tool of evangelistic
outreach to the inner city of Mobile, Alabama. We
thank God for all our brothers and sisters in Christ
who help with this very important work! Area
Christians help by driving church buses; serving as
bus workers; team coordinators; learning center
helpers; Bible class teachers; and area
congregations help to support the work of the Bible
school financially. |

Christians
from eight area congregations of the churches of Christ
come to serve by helping out on the bus or learning
center. What we do together we do well; area congregations
serving together in a cooperative effort to bring the
Gospel to the poor of the inner city of Mobile, Alabama by
planting a seed in the hearts of the children!
The Mobile Inner City church
of Christ, like other area congregations, allow their
building to be used as a learning center on Tuesday nights
for 10-13 year old inner city kids coming to Bible school.
When kids arrive they are sent to different class rooms
with teachers who present Bible lessons and materials. The
small group setting is conducive to building relationships
that will last for an eternity! |

We
start teaching inner city children when they are as
young as three years old; this is seed planting at
it's best! We do this because we are trying to make an
impact on a vicious cycle that we see at work in the
inner city:
|
The
Cycle of Hopelessness
-
Hopelessness - Birth
-
Pain - 3-6 years
-
Anger - 7-9 years
-
Rage - 10-13
-
Violence - 14 + years
Help us to break this cycle -

When we
speak of the cycle of hopelessness we speak of how the
home has been effected by sin and the ever present
Satan; drugs, alcoholism, domestic abuse, sex abuse,
poverty and crime run rampant in the inner cities of
America. Children have had their lives thrust into the
clutches of hopelessness before they have had a
fighting chance. Please keep our Bible school for
inner city children in your prayers. |

Approximately 35-40 7-9 year old inner city kids from
the R.V. Taylor housing projects ride on the church
bus on Tuesday nights to go to the Regency church of
Christ who offers their facility as a learning center.
Once the children arrive and are led into the class
room they are divided by grade and a Christian sits
with them at a table to teach them a Bible lesson. The
teachers engage the kids in fun activities, such as
arts and crafts, games, and exercises to reinforce the
Bible lesson that evening. |
