WE ASK
UNASHAMEDLY FOR THE CAUSE OF CHRIST
Many people think
of crime, drug and alcohol abuse, poverty, gangs,
violence, and run down housing developments when
they think of the inner city; we think about hope!
we think about a God who has compassion for the
poor and destitute; we think about the families
that are transformed by the Gospel of our Lord and
Savior, Jesus.
The typical
household income of the families that make up the
Mobile Inner City church of Christ is less than
$8,000.00 a year; the Inner city congregation
gives in a year what many congregations give on a
Sunday morning. However, the magnitude of the
ministry that reaches out to the poor in the inner
city of Mobile, Alabama is far too great for the
Mobile Inner City church of Christ to sustain.
Most of our members ride to service on a church
bus or van; we provide transportation for 90
children ages 3-13 using three diesel school buses
on Tuesday night for children's Bible school. At
times, families come to us for help, seeking
benevolence. We would not be able to do what we do
without the help of caring Christians and
congregations. Thanks to all who have helped over
the years! Please keep the Lord's work in the
inner city of Mobile, Alabama in your prayers that
the wheels of ministry keep on rolling for the
cause of Christ (Luke 19:10). |
